The Eye on Malaysia, the largest portable ‘observation wheel’ in the world, was unveiled by the Hon. Prime Minister of Malaysia on 6 January 2007 in conjunction with the grand launch of the Visit Malaysia Year 2007 celebration.

This giant ferris wheel allows visitors to experience a 360-degree panoramic view of Kuala Lumpur during a 12-minute ride that goes 60 metres high. It offers a magnificent view of Kuala Lumpur and over 20 kilometres of its surroundings including KL Tower, Istana Budaya and Petronas Twin Towers.

Similar in concept and style to the famous London Eye, the specially commissioned Eye on Malaysia is expected to be a hit among locals and tourists. There are a total of 42 gondolas comprising 39 units for the public, one for VIPs and two for disabled passengers. Each of the gondola can carry eight persons.

The Swiss technology used to make the giant wheel is the result of a strategic partnership between a Malaysian company, MST AD Suria Sdn Bhd, and an Australian enterprise.

Tickets are available at the sales counter in the Titiwangsa Lake Gardens. It costs RM15 for adults and RM8 for children aged 3 to 12 and senior citizens. The operating hours for the ferris wheel are from 10am to 10pm daily.

Titiwangsa Lake Gardens will be transformed into an audio-visual wonderland as four of the world’s largest and most high-tech water screens will show the faces and images of Malaysia combined with a fireworks display.

The International WaterSky Spectacular runs at night with exciting shows commencing at 8pm daily. It features jet and water ski stunts and close proximity pyrotechnics to create a truly spectacular experience.

Don’t forget to catch the ‘Theatre of the Waters’ premiere on 1 February 2007 and will continue to be screened each night throughout the year. Meantime, the ‘Art of Fireworks’ show runs every night from Saturday 6 January to Saturday 3 February 2007.

In remote China, a rare landscape

I am in a deep, deep tunnel, die-straight and dark and two miles long, a fingernail of faraway brilliance at its mouth brightening every second until, with startling suddenness, it is daylight. Ahead of the car are scores upon scores upon scores of mighty towers, climbing endlessly into the foggy sky, like some surreal and unexpected ruined city.

I missed the Love parade this year due to insufficient kaki and fund for One of the Mannheim biggest event .Pop in Hafen.

Yet again, Its a must go if anyone will be in Germany in July or August!!

The Love Parade was first celebrated 4 months before the demolition of the Berlin Wall in 1989. It was started by the fresh Berlin Underground under the initiative of Matthias Roeingh aka "Dr. Motte". It was held as a political demonstration for peace and international understanding through music.

Until 1996, the parade was held on the famous Berlin "Kurfürstendamm". Since by then, not only the Kurfürstendamm was overcrowded but the streets and even railway tracks near the Ku'damm, too, the parade moved to the "Straße des 17. Juni" which is near the Tiergarten Park in the center of Berlin by the Brandenburg Gate and provided plenty of space. The center of the parade is the Siegessäule in the middle of the park, and the golden angel atop the column has become a symbol of the parade.

The music played at the events is predominantly electronic dance music: in this case mainly Trance, House, Techno, and Schranz music.

With its water-cooled sound systems on every truck, the parade produces a sound floor of many megawatts. The parade basically lives through those trucks. The trucks usually feature local, or important, clubs and their DJs. It has become a rule that only trucks that have sponsors from a techno related field, such as clubs, labels or stores, are allowed. It costs a lot of money to equip a truck. They are usually open on top and feature dancers. Their box-systems are mounted on the side or the rear. There are two tactics to choose from: Follow a truck that features a style that you like, or have them all pass you so you can see and hear more.

Love Parade is a place where some exhibit and enjoy other people's exhibitionist tendencies. Some attendees enjoy carrying around toys such as pacifiers or facing masks. Often the crowd is imaginative in terms of clothing (or lack thereof) and appearance.

One famous picture from the Love Parade is people sitting and dancing on streetlamps, trees, commercial signs, telephone booths, which gave the event's nickname "the greatest amateur circus on earth". Although it is not allowed, there is probably no better way to see and be seen. However some people used this for special jokes, like hanging up things such as bicycle locks, on trees and poles, but such actions are very rare. The police of Berlin are usually quite tolerant when it comes to people enjoying themselves. There haven't been any major incidents in over twelve years of parade history - except for the high drug use and people passing out due to dehydration or hyperthermia, the number of injuries as well as the number of crimes is extraordinarily low.

Ok .After getting myself clothes of the day,at about 5pm ,we went down to Tier garten, Where Love parade held. It was a bit late though, because the event started at 3 pm actually.But, who cares ! We were having pre drinking session back in hostel!!

Later we found out that it was a correct move. All outside alcohol are not allow to bring in to the compound. Yes. Security check. Well, Before we were in side, we drank about 1 dozen of beer in about 10 minutes!!. (else we gonna throw it away. You siao?)



hmn..No alcohol from outside allowed (else what the sponsor will earn ?). WHAT the hell is that! yes alcohol.! is a mini vodka. We hide it left right center of everywhere. But not to the extent of you -know -where.

The picture featured a korean girl.gosh.She really CAN drink.

After some booze. Let start the party!

Our friend who watch it from national TV even told us that we are on national TV!!

We were just under the automated moving camera and there was helicopter too! Geil!

Ric's Travel Journal : Milano

Since King Uh hit the 1^st round of Milan reportage. I will share about mine too.

It was part of my travel in Italy. We were traveled from Firenze (Florence) to Siena and Bologna and later Milano (Milan).

We arrived in Bologna about 11pm with our backpack. Besides sitting at train station, we decided to talk a small walk to a nearby fortress. Yes! At night.

Is was a mini one and just enough to killed 30 minutes of our time and the next train to Milano will leave only at 4 am. Besides sitting in Mc Donald’s playing “What I like about you and what I think you should improve” relationship game. We can only wait.

To my amazed, most people will think it will be a empty train at 4 am. It was FULL.

To the extent that, we have no seats and have to sit on our back pack along the alley in the train.

We arrived in Milano close to 7 am. Through the high and low search of our 10 euro booked hostel, we accidentally bumped into a Malaysian uncle!! (I also bump into interesting guy when I travel) As the hostel open only after 10am, he actually invited us for a breakfast.

This is the time I really learned about Italy from foreigner point of view, not as a tourist.

He told me that the entire COOP you see everywhere in the country belong to the president!! He worked there as a kitchen helper for years, sharing with us sweet and bitter about life in other land. There are one part of the conversation really stroked my mind.

Me :” So uncle , when will you be leaving here and going back to Malaysia?”

Uncle :” Malaysia ? , don’t think so .”

Me : “ Why is that so ? Is that the earning here is better?”

Uncle : “Not really , I earn here and spend here. Is just that, even I go back, I also don’t know what to do and where to start again.”

These make me ponder. People use to say ‘The other side of the grass is always greener’ or Chinese says ‘Moon in foreign countries is always brighter than homeland’

No one can really justify that statement.It purely dependent of feeling, situation , chance and many other elements.

After unpack and we loitered in the city and found one funny thing.

We are in the heart of Milan and are not the public holiday. But it seems that is a rest day for all as you can see “Chuiso per ferie”

“Chuiso per ferie” signs had become a familiar sight everywhere we went. Then only we knew that we had come in the middle of Ferragosto, the Italian holiday season, which meant that a lot of places would be closed.

After asking around I found out most of the people went to a famous beach paradise, Rimini beach at west coast of Italy in the summer and our presents were exactly in that season. Suai lo

None the less, you still can find people here and there. Mainly belong to two groups. Old folks and tourists.

Since almost all the shop was closed. We went to Sforzesco Castle. But it located in the city center though.

The castle itself was boring interesting. I mean beside the stones and walls. The history is interesting, because Napoleon was once here.

A nice walk in the castle garden with lake was really you can’t imagine back home.Nice weather , relax and again Italy Gelato ice cream.

We leave the castle compound and moved on to the Duomo and the shopping mall,Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.

Since King Uh covered the Duomo part. I will just show my pictures (with nice weather and clear blue sky) and clip during the prayer.

Now we were in the shopping mall of Milan, here you find , D& G,Prada,Gucci, A|X ,Diesel and many. I got nothing from those. What to do. Backpacker. Poor neh.

Here we found two interesting objects. One the floor mosaic in the mall ground with a Bull logo. What so special about it?

There is a curious custom in Milan, if you are passing through the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, that you should spin around 3 times on the testicles of the bull mosaic found in the centre. Legend has it that this will bring you good luck!

We only found out that the shopping mall building is a form from a cross like a design of a church.

At night, we were back to the castle garden as there was a folk festival there.

When I get old I wanna be like them!!. Jolly, active and passionate!!

What i regretted is not having to visit Leonardo's The Last Supper at Santa Maria Church.

"米蘭大教堂（Duomo）是米蘭重要地標，一直和佛羅倫斯大教堂爭奪全球第三大教堂的地位，前兩大教堂分別是排名第一的梵諦岡聖彼得大教堂、第二的西班牙的塞維爾 (Seville)大教堂，至於第三名則米蘭或佛羅倫斯大教堂則有爭議，但不論是第三或第四大教堂，米蘭大教堂的歷史價值、哥德式建築風格都有著無與倫比的地位。

米蘭大教堂是米蘭的地標，整座建築物融合哥德、文藝復興、新古典等多種建築風格，其位居米蘭市中心，雄偉的氣勢，令人望之而生仰慕之心，其中教堂正面以三角形狀構建而成，四周有數百座尖塔成林，和高達108公尺的主塔相襯，仿如相互扶持，伸向藍天，展現哥德式建築的特色。


這座教堂於1386年開始建造，當時是由統治米蘭的威斯康提（Gian Galeazzo Visconti）下令興建，建材為來自Candoglia地區的大理石。歷經五、六百年，這座教堂逐一完成重要的建設內容。1418年主祭壇完工啟用， 1617年教堂正面工程展開，仍以歌德式為主要風格，1774年主尖塔聖母像建成，1813年拿破崙下令建成正牆面及所有尖塔，一直到二十世紀初，今日所見的正牆面五扇銅門才裝置完成。

最高的尖塔高達108.5公尺，上方置有聖母雕像，教堂拱頂由52根多柱體樑柱支撐，其上共有135根石柱尖塔、2245座雕像，均取材自聖經故事，教堂內外所呈現的聖者及使徒像，數目達3159座，據傳均是文藝復興時代所留下的作品，教堂正面五扇銅門上，分別刻有教堂歷史、米蘭歷史、聖母生涯和君士坦丁大帝的「米蘭詔書」等。不管從那一個方向看，米蘭大教堂呈現的壯麗風貌及豐富的歷史內涵，都很令人感動。

教堂內部也很有特色，從祭壇、馬賽克畫至寶物室，都值得觀賞。其中祭壇上供奉著的一根釘子，據說是取自耶穌被釘死的十字架上。教堂內天花板很高，並鑲有彩繪玻璃，往地下走，有寶物庫Tesoro，另也可以搭乘電梯到頂樓，欣賞四周景物，或購票參觀大教堂博物館Museo del Duomo。"

1st Stop: Milan

Duomo at Piazza del Duomo

Do you know that the Duomo, commonly named as Church or Cathedral in Italy, is 1 of the largest Cathedral in the world? It is rumoured to be the 2nd largest Church in Italy, just after St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City?

It is well known with its Gothic and Neoclassicism style of building art. It is very impressive.

It is built from year 1386 and it took more than 2 centuries for the architectures to complete it.

The main sight of its exterior design is a golden statue of Jesus's Mother Maria Madonna. It is 4.2 meters high, and is accompanied by as much as 138 sharp tower. It is said that 1 of towers is as high as 108 meter. Impressive is it?
